ESDCTA Volunteering Opportunities

Join us to volunteer if you are:

  • Looking to support ESDCTA
  • Would like to be a part of a board or a committee
  • Need to accrue volunteer hours for ESDCTA Year End Awards, grants, scholarships, and/or team applications

ESDCTA Volunteer Opportunities

These ESDCTA Recognized Volunteer Activities can be used towards Year-End Awards, Dressage Medals, Teams, Grants or Scholarships. Before you volunteer, remember to print out and bring along a VOLUNTEER HOURS FORM to fill out if you are interested in using your volunteer hours for Year-End Awards, grants, scholarships, team selections, etc., and/or if you want to transfer the hours to someone else.

  • Dressage Shows: Memorial Day, Summer Days, and Championship Show
    • Volunteer coordinator, set-up, scribe, ring steward, warm-up steward, bit check, runner, scoring, awards, stable manager, tear-down
  • XC Schooling at HPNJ
    • Check in, out-rider or back field monitor
  • Horse Trials
    • Volunteer coordinator, dressage ring set-up, stadium jump set-up, xc decorators, scribes, ring stewards, warm-up stewards for D, SJ, XC, bit check, runners, xc score collectors, scoring, cross country jump judges, timers, stadium jump crew
  • Turkey Trot
    • Course marking, check-in, course monitors, course unmarking
  • Article for the Newsletter – 2 hours for each article
  • Organize a clinic – hours approved by the Board
  • Board Position – hours approved by the Board
  • Committee member (non-board member) – hours approved by committee Chair
  • Individual Activity (non-board member) – hours approved by the Board
    • Newsletter, Nominating, Show Results, Order Ribbons & Trophies, others
  • Awards Banquet/Silent Auction help (except time required for a grant)
  • Recruit new members – 1 hour for each new person or past member who hasn’t renewed in two years

Additional Information:

  • If you cannot complete your Year-End Awards volunteer requirements, we offer a volunteer hour buy-out program for $10/hour. Click here for Buyout info
  • Volunteer hours are transferable from person to person and can be earned by people who are not ESDCTA members and transferred to an ESDCTA member for Year End awards or Grants.
