The Col Bengt Ljungquist Memorial Championships (CBLM) were founded in 1983 by Dr. Samuel Barish, a past president of USDF, for the purpose of stimulating dressage competition at the USEF Levels. Later the FEI and Musical Freestyle divisions were added to the competition. The CBLM Championships served as the basis for the USDF/USEF GAIG Regional Championship program. These Championships are open to both US citizens and foreign riders; the rider just has to be a member of a participating USDF GMO at the time of qualification.
Method
- Horse/rider combinations qualify by receiving ONE qualifying score in a designated CBLM qualifying class at any participating USDF/USEF recognized show.
- The rider is responsible for submitting a Qualification Form as soon as possible after receiving the score. The Qualifying Form can be completed online. It can also be printed out, filled out by hand, and emailed to the CBLM President, Bettina Longaker (entries@scriptsrides.com). No rider may compete in the CBLM Championship show until their Qualifying Form has been received by Bettina.
- The show is open to all horse/rider combinations who are members of a participating GMO, such as but not limited to ESDCTA and LVDA (Lehigh Valley Dressage Association). You must be a member of a GMO at the time your qualifying score is earned.

NEW! Dressage Seat Equitation Championships
This year, by popular demand, we are adding Dressage Seat Equitation Championship Classes for Adult Amateurs, Juniors, and Young Riders. Youth riders will be grouped by age, and Adult Amateurs will be grouped by level. We are offering the following 6 divisions.
Youth: 13 years old & below, 14-18 years old, 19-21 years old
Adult Amateur: Training Level, First Level, Second Level & above
To qualify for the DSE Championships, the rider needs to be a member of a participating GMO. When the rider submits a qualifying form and qualifying score for a regular non-equitation CBLM Championship Class, they will automatically be qualified for the division they are eligible for. Note for Adult Amateurs: If you qualify for the CBLMs at two consecutive levels, such as First and Second Level, you would ride in the higher level Equitation Championship (should you enter it).
